Catholic Early Learning & Care (CELC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic OSHC Educator to join our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) team in Weipa on a CASUAL Basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children aged 5–12 years.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery: Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering a diverse range of fun, educational, and developmentally appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, sports, cooking, and STEM-based experiences.

Child Engagement: Build strong, respectful relationships with children, actively engaging with them during play and supporting their emotional and social development.

Supervision and Safety: Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children at all times, including managing transitions and conducting regular risk assessments.

Inclusive Practice: Promote and support inclusive practices by catering to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all children, including those with additional needs.

Family and Community Partnerships: Maintain positive and professional relationships with families, acting as a key point of contact and supporting open communication between parents, carers, and the service.

Compliance and Record Keeping: Support the OSHC Coordinator in maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), including completing daily documentation, incident reports, and attendance records as required.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the OSHC team to reflect on program effectiveness, contribute ideas for improvement, and foster a supportive team culture.
Skills & Requirements:
- Blue Card Ready: Got a current Working with Children Check or ready to get one? Awesome!
- Police Check: A clean record is key – we’ll need you to have one if successful.
- Child Whisperer: Respond to childrens' needs with a smile and make sure our service is top-notch!
- Great Communicator: Shine with your fantastic communication and people skills.
- Working Rights: Must have the right to work in Australia.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Cert III or Higher: Got a Certificate III or higher in an ACECQA-approved qualification or working towards? Perfect, that's ideal for this position!
- Childcare Experience: Have some hands-on experience working with children? You’re ahead of the game!
