Job Description

 Your Role

As part of CELC’s leadership and practice support team, you’ll:

  • Coordinate and oversee inclusion support services across all CELC sites, ensuring compliance with the Child Care Act, Education and Care National Regulations, and National Quality Framework (NQF).
  • Mentor and guide educators in developing and embedding inclusive, strengths-based practices within their daily programs.
  • Collaborate closely with families to build trust, understand individual child needs, and develop clear, effective Support Inclusion Plans (SIPs).
  • Provide professional advice and support during Pause Care or Cessation of Care processes, ensuring the wellbeing of children, families, and educators.
  • Review behavioural trends, identify early intervention opportunities, and assist services to respond proactively before challenges escalate.
  • Partner with external specialists and community organisations (e.g. Autism Queensland, disability advocacy and mental health groups) to strengthen inclusion pathways.
  • Design and deliver professional learning opportunities, both online and onsite, to enhance educator skills in positive behaviour support, inclusive planning, and family engagement.
  • Provide detailed reports, data analysis, and insights to CELC’s leadership team to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Promote child-safe practices and uphold safeguarding standards across all services.

This role requires a balance of professional expertise, relational skill, and emotional intelligence; working hand-in-hand with educators, families, and community partners to ensure every child has a place to belong.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in Early Childhood Education, Inclusion Support, Behaviour Guidance, or Community Services.
  • Proven ability to support children with diverse developmental, behavioural, or learning needs.
  • Deep understanding of the National Quality Framework, child development milestones, and inclusive education principles.
  • Experience in designing or implementing individualised support or behaviour plans.
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring educators to embed inclusive, child-centred practice.
  • Current Blue Card, National Police Check, and Driver’s Licence (travel required across services).

At CELC, you’ll be part of a caring and purpose-driven team that’s shaping the future of early childhood education in Far North Queensland; together.
