Job Description

Centacare FNQ is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Mental Health & Wellbeing department in Cairns across a range of roles — Team Leaders, Coaches, and Peer Support Workers. These positions offer the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals while working within a collaborative, values-driven team.

As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership, supervision, and oversight of service delivery, guiding your team to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and culturally responsive mental health programs. You will play a key role in planning, implementation, and evaluation, while also fostering strong partnerships with external stakeholders to strengthen community outcomes.

As a Coach, you will walk alongside clients and team members, offering mentorship, practical strategies, and personalised support that empowers growth, recovery, and resilience. You will help ensure services are outcome-focused and delivered in line with best practice.

As a Peer Support Worker, you will use your lived experience to build trust and provide unique insight, offering hope and practical guidance to individuals on their recovery journey. Your role will be central in fostering connection, reducing stigma, and encouraging clients to draw on their own strengths and capabilities.

No matter which role you step into, you will contribute to a supportive, professional, and positive team culture where communication, continuous learning, and shared purpose drive success. Together, we create safe spaces where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

To succeed, you will bring relevant qualifications, experience, or lived expertise in mental health, alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills. At Centacare FNQ, your contribution matters — every action, every conversation, and every service provided has the power to create hope and positive change.

If you are ready to support others, lead with purpose, or share your lived experience to inspire recovery, we would love to hear from you.
