This position provides financial and operational support to meet the organisation's operational and compliance requirements of Centacare FNQ and Catholic Early Learning and Care. Reporting to the General Manager – Business Services, this position will support day-to-day functions of the accounts department, participate in financial audits, support month end reporting, and provide support to the finance team.

Your role
Under the direction of the General Manager – Business Services, the position is responsible for:
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Banking and Receipting
General Ledger Maintenance
Asset Accounting
Financial/Management Reporting.
Grant Compliance and Reporting, and
Statutory Compliance
Specifically, the position can undertake a range of activities including but not limited to:
Administration
Contribute to, and be part of, the organisational culture with a focus on Mission and Vision, teamwork, cooperation, client service, quality, safety and confidentiality
Provide excellence in customer-centred service delivery and continuous service improvement to ensure customer needs and expectations are met
Provide assistance to staff on Centacare FNQ and CELC accounts processes.
Process invoices, prepare journals and the entry of transactions into the relevant finance systems ensuring financial delegations and program budgets are adhered to
Reconcile accounts including bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.
Complete month end reporting requirements for key stakeholders
Respond to and investigate or escalate accounts related queries from multiple stakeholder
Undertake regular analysis and reporting (e.g. aged debtors, aged creditors)
Assist in the accurate and efficient maintenance of financial and administration records
Assist the Director of Shared Services and Team Leader, Finance with the preparation of applications, financial reports and other duties that may require research, a high degree of judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity
Manage, plan and prioritise own workload to meet required deadlines
Provide relief or support to other areas of Shared Services, as required (e.g. Payroll)
Communication and Professional Development
Maintain a high level of skill in Microsoft Office and other business systems particularly OWNA, Explor and Flexipurchase.
Contribute towards continuous improvements in the workplace.
Participate as required in communications with staff and contribute to team meetings, training and planning activities, service evaluation and quality assurance activities.
Undertake other duties as directed by those authorised to give such direction, within the scope of expertise and training.
Deliver the requirements of the finance role in a culturally appropriate manner.

Delivery of financial processes and controls, as well as reporting requirements (monthly and annually)
Proven problem solving and mathematical skills required to accurately maintain and balance account
High level of proficiency in the use of accounting software, (specifically Reckon MS Office programs (particularly Excel), and the Internet, with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to monitor financial data and interpret financial policies and procedures
Ability to work autonomously with well-developed organizational, prioritisation and time management skills
